In every stage of your construction project, identification of stakeholders and determining the team plays an important part in your project, knowing who and what the roles of each in every stage are critical to the success of the construction project.

Project Initiator, Project Sponsor or Project Owner is the financier of the construction project or the person who has the capability to provide the financial resources of the project.

• He provides necessary information for project statement of work.
• He is in charge of funding requirements.
• He issues the project charter
• He dictates priorities, milestones, and key events for the project.
• He suggests inputs for the project scope, requirements, cost, and quality.
• He is a customer when project is being done for an external customer.
• He is a major stakeholder.

Project Manager is the one who manages and is in charge of the project to meet the project objectives.

• He assists the sponsor in the creation of project charter.
• He suggests inputs to be included in the project statement of work.
• He is in charge of the initial stage of the project.
• He is responsible for the success or failure of the project.
• He is a major stakeholder.

Functional Manager is the person owns the resources and/or the one who manages a department like engineering.

• His responsibilities are not available in this process or stage.

Team they are a group of people responsible to complete and work on the project, but are subject to change throughout the construction project.

Stakeholder refers to anyone who has an influence over the project.

• He suggests inputs about the creation of project charter and requirements.
• He is a project manager.
• He is a sponsor, project initiator, or a customer.
